Section III
Membership Responsibilities
1.    All members shall at their own expense, purchase such items as are required for the Unit uniform. (ref. Section IX).

2.    All members shall, at their own expense, purchase such items as are required for their personal equipment, (ref. Addendum A)

3.    Any members will at all times adhere to regulations set forth by MCSO.

4.    No member shall wear a badge, MCSO patches, or have decals on their vehicle until their identification card has been issued by MCSO and posse commander.

5.    Badges shall be optional. However - although purchased by the individual member - the badge, MCSO patches, identification card and vehicular decals will remain the property of this Unit. Should a member resign or be dismissed, the unit property will be returned to the posse commander. Upon receipt of the property, the posse commander will direct the treasurer to refund the purchase price of said property to the individual or credit the amount to the individual's indebetedness to the unit if such an indebtedness exists.

6.    During all times that this Unit is operational, the members will take direction from the following:

        A. Posse Commander - CPT.
        B. Executive Officer - LT.
        C. Section Leader - LT.
        D. Squad Leader - SGT.

7.    Members shall be expected to attend the following:

        A. Each Monthly Meeting
        B. Training Exercises
        C. Search and Rescue Operations
        D. Functions as authorized by the Posse Commander

8.    No member shall be expected to attend one or more of the functions listed in Section III Item 7, if one or more of the following situations should occur:

        A. Temporary health problems
        B. Interference with one's livelihood
        C. Creation of serious conflicts within the family

9.    A member shall be expected to resign if they find that they cannot attend scheduled functions on a regular basis as defined by the Board of Directors.

10.    A member desiring a Leave of Absence or Request for inactive status must submit a written or oral statement, indicating the reason for request, to the commander for approval or disapproval. The statement must include - but not limited to - the reasons, the time peoriod involved and any conditions applicable to the request. To remain a Member in good standing, the member will be required to pay, in advance, all dues inclusive of estamated period of inactive status. A request for Leave of Absence or for inactive status will have a longevity of six months. Resubmission will occur every six month period.

11.    A member will at no time consume alcoholic beverages while in uniform or on official assignment.

12.    Every member will be required to complete the basic posse member classes, along with first aid, cpr, and the search and rescue academy within the first twelve months.
